Ashley - Downtown Lees' Summit Part 1

We had a blast today taking Ashley through downtown Lee's Summit to shoot her senior photos. Ashley has a sweet spirit and joy oozes through her beautiful smile. We couldn't have asked for a more dramatic sky. It offered beautiful blue, dark, stormy, and even sun shine in between the clouds.
This is part one of a two part shoot. Next stop will be downtown Kansas City.

We had so many good photos it was hard to stop with these few.

And now a word from Vanna.

2008 Legacy Park Fireworks Display

This year will go down as one of the greatest 4th of July weekends we've ever had in Kansas City. In years past the weather has either been very hot or rainy. This year, however, was perfect and we had a great time. My son Drew and I took a few minutes drive up to Legacy Park in Lees Summit. Here's just a few photo's from the fireworks show.

Cole

Cole is a young man who came to Kansas City from Texas to visit family. Since he recently graduated from High School, we took an opportunity to do a senior photo shoot. Cole loves horses so we went to a nearby stable where he felt right at home. We had a wonderful time!

Clesie Learns to Jump in the Pool

Our Yellow Lab Ecclesiastes, aka Clesie, learned how to swim this week. It's great to watch how quickly he learns new things. Not long ago he wouldn't touch the pool water, so one day I gently helped him sit on the first step. After a few hours the curiosity got the better of him and he ventured deeper into the pool. Soon he was venturing down the stairs to retrieve his toys.

I showed him how to jump in from the side of the pool and after a few minutes he was doing it on his own. Now he just loves the pool, and retrieving anything we throw into the pool. He often jumps in just for the fun of it!

"Look dad, I got my eye's on the prize!"

"Got it!"

Clesie's failed attempt to walk on water.

"Dang it, I thought if I had faith as small as a mustard seed I could walk on water."

Three Inches of Rain

Like most parts of the U.S. the storms seem to come every week. In Kansas City we are on a record setting pace for tornadoes. Last night the forecast called for 3 inches of rain, fortunately we only received 1 1/2 inches.

Soon after I took these pictures the wind increased so much that the trees in our back yard looked as if they we're going to snap in two. Fortunately they did not.

Lees Summit 2008 Downtown Days

Friday we went to the Less Summit Old Times Day for some much needed rest and relaxation. For the entertainment we listened to Big Woody’s Blues Review and Monsters of Mock Tribute Bands - U2.

Here are a few pictures from the events.
